You don’t need to be wealthy to travelling and/or living in a RV full-time. Just like any other travel plans or life projects, it requires a budget. Full-time RV traveling and living can be easy, simple and fun!

Here are some tips to RVing full-time on a budget.

Save on Camping Fees

There are three ways to save on camping fees:

  • Invest in membership camping and discount cards

By investing in at least one camping membership, you get access to campgrounds and you can save a lot of money. Discount cards can help you save on other campgrounds that aren’t included in your membership and allow you to visit different places between stays.

  • Find free campsites

You can find free campsites and overnight RV parking more easily than you think! The RV Life and RV Trip Wizare apps can help you find free and affordable camping options.

  • Stay months at a time

Did you know that staying at a campground for one or a few months is cheaper than paying nightly? It is recommended to stay at least one month or more to save on costs.

Save on Fuel

Full-time RVing means that your fuel usage will increase. There a different ways to save on fuel, including joining a discount club, using the GasBuddy app to find the cheapest gas in a given area, get fuel at Costco, pack light, make sure your RV tire pressure is good and cut down on propane usage.

Save on Food

Food can be expensive if you are not budgeting your expenses. A way to save is to use a slow cooker and have your meals ready to eat after a day of sightseeing. Pack lunches and snacks when you are out visiting to avoid eating at expensive restaurants.
