Towing and Parking: What RV to Choose For Your Camping Lifestyle

Choosing the right RV for your camping lifestyle can feel daunting, but it doesn’t have to. Consider your towing needs and parking preferences before deciding.

Here are some options for a variety of lifestyle needs:

RVs That Are Good for Towing

Travel trailers – Come in a variety of sizes and weights. They can be towed by a wide range of vehicles from small SUVs to full-size pickup trucks.

Fifth-Wheels Similar to travel trailers but require a pickup truck with a special hitch. They offer more living space and amenities. Note they are also good for staying parked at a stationary location.

Toy haulers – Great for people who want to bring toys like ATVs or motorcycles. They have a garage area in the back of the RV that can be used for storage or as a living space.

RVs That Are Good Staying Parked

Motorhomes – Good for long-term living and provide space and amenities. They come with luxurious features like multiple slide-outs, full-sized appliances, and large and comfortable living spaces.

Park models – These are small mobile homes designed for extended stays at a single location. They are larger and more spacious than travel trailers with high ceilings, full-sized appliances, and plenty of storage space. They are set up on a permanent site and connected to utilities.
