Donuts

Who doesn’t love donuts? These are easy to make in your RV and tasty!

Here is how to make them.

Ingredients

🍩 1 cup sugar

🍩 4 tsp baking powder

🍩 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

🍩 1 1/2 tsp salt

🍩 1/2 tsp nutmeg

🍩1/2 tsp cinnamon

🍩 2 eggs

🍩1/4 cup melted butter

🍩1 cup milk

🍩4 cups flour

Sugar mixture

🍩1 cup white sugar

🍩 2 1/2 tbsp cinnamon

🍩 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

✔️ In a stand mixer bowl, add the sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Mix with the dough hook attachment until well mixed.

✔️ Add the eggs, melted butter, vanilla and milk. Mix until it is homogeneous.

✔️ Add the flour slowly. Once the flour is incorporated, turn off the mixture. If the dough feels too wet, sprinkle a bit of flour over it. If it feels too dry, add a bit of milk. Form the dough into a disk, cover in a plastic wrap and let it chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. The dough will keep two days in the fridge or two months in the freezer.

✔️ Heat oil in a Dutch oven or heavy bottomed pot to 360 degrees.

✔️ Get the dough from the fridge and roll out to a sheet that is about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Punch out the dough into donut shapes.

✔️ Once the oil is up to temperature, carefully lower the donuts into the hot oil. Don’t put too many donuts at once. It is better to put one or two at a time. Let them bubble away until the side facing down is golden brown. Flip and brown the other side, about 5 minutes in total.

✔️ Once browned deeply, remove from the oil and let drain on a rack or paper towel. While it is still hot, put the donuts into a bowl that contains the sugar/cinnamon mixture and toss.
