RV TIPS & TRICKS

Pamper Your Pet While RVing

Keep your pets happy and safe while they enjoy the RV lifestyle! From pet-friendly RV features to travel pet supplies, here are some of our top tips and tricks for traveling with your furry companions.

Find a pet-friendly RV

If you’re in the market for a new RV, keep your pet’s needs in mind while you shop. The exclusive, RV Care approved Northern Spirit ultra-lite travel trailer is tailor-made to meet the needs of the Canadian family, and their pets. The trailer features an exterior dog leash clip, a pet centre for food dishes, and plenty of storage for pet crates and gear.

Stock up on pet travel supplies

Did you know that most RV Care Dealerships stock a great range of pet supplies designed for life at the campsite? From food bowls to pick-up bags, stop in to check out products specifically designed for RVing with your pets.

Don’t forget the treats and toys

Travel can be stressful for some pets, so be sure to bring along some favourite toys and special treats. You want them to get excited when they see it’s time for another camping trip.

Take steps for their safety

  • Make sure your pets have a safe spot to be secured while traveling, rather than roaming loose in your vehicle. Use a seatbelt harness or carrier, so everyone stays put in the event of a quick break or sharp turn.
  • Have proper identification on your pet, like an ID tag or a microchip, and remember to use your mobile number as the contact on their tag.
  • While at the campground, consider a long leash or portable fence that will give your pets a comfortable space to roam, while keeping them safely in your site.
