7 Awesome Fall RV Camping Destinations and Activities

Fall is a fantastic time for RV adventures. Temperatures may be dropping, but so are the bugs and crowds! Check out our roundup of 7 awesome fall RV camping destinations and activities.

1 – Drive the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia

A truly spectacular drive, it’s no wonder The Cabot Trail has been named one of the world’s most beautiful drives. And in the fall? The scenery puts on a colourful show with every shade of autumn. 

2 – View the larches in Banff

Banff National Park is known for stunning fall foliage, with yellow larches stealing the show each fall. Banff National Park offers several campgrounds, including the Tunnel Mountain Village II campground, which is open year-round.

3 – Go apple picking

A fun RV road trip stop, if you’re driving through orchard country, make a pit stop to pick some apples. Our favourite way to enjoy apples at the campsite is stuffed and roasted over the fire!

4 – Birdwatch during the fall migration

The Observatoire d’Oiseaux de Tadoussac in Quebec is a prime place to see raptors, boreal owls, and so much more, during migration in the fall.

5 – Enjoy the fall foliage in Ontario

From hiking to biking or birdwatching, Algonquin Provincial Park is a nature lover’s paradise in the fall. The park’s Mew Lake Campground has over 100 campsites and is open year-round.

6 – Cook over the campfire

Cool weather, a crackling fire, and a cozy meal go perfectly together, and food cooked over the fire just tastes so delicious. From a big pot of chilli to foil-wrapped favourites, slow-roast them over the flames with our tips for cooking over a campfire.

7 – Enjoy fall crafts

Turn the fall foliage you’ve been admiring into a beautiful memory of your trip by making leaf rubbings. All you need is paper, crayons or pastels, and leaves. Placing the collected leaves vein side up on a flat surface, lay the paper over top, and then gently rub a crayon over the paper to create the impression.
